Saturday 5th September - £13.50 per person
Join us for a fun filled day out to Cardiff, the capital of Wales. One of Europe's youngest capitals with a progressive and confident personality to match. A century ago, it was the busiest coal port in the world. Today those very docks have been transformed into a dazzling waterfront complex of restaurants and visitor attractions, outstanding museums, theatres and shops with over 330 parks and gardens.
Shopping in Cardiff is a real pleasure as most of the city is pedestrianised and there is an abundance of trees and shrubs. Seven glass-canopied Victorian and Edwardian shopping arcades give the city centre a unique character as well as protecting shoppers from the sometimes unpredictable british weather. There are also three modern shopping malls: Queen's Arcade, Capitol Centre and St David's. Also, look for the Welsh craft shops that sell woolen items, Celtic jewellery and lovespoons, the traditional Welsh gift.
Visit the National Museum and Gallery of Wales, whose world-class exhibits include a magnificent collection of Impressionist paintings. You can also jump aboard a waterbus at the Millenium Stadium or Mermaid Quay for a panoramic sightseeing tour of the revitalised Cardiff Bay.
- Enjoy Cardiff Castle, inspiring & flamboyant in the centre of the city
- Take a tour of the magnificent Millenium Stadium, Europe's largest undercover venue
- Enjoy Welsh history and art, science and life as it was in Cardiff's fascinating museums
- Cardiff Bay - take a boat trip in the bay or stroll on the promenade
- Stroll through Victorian shopping arcades and enjoy over 600 shops
**WHATEVER YOUR INTERESTS, CARDIFF HAS THEM ALL**
